ALBÜM is a virtual and print magazine specializing in contemporary Latin American photography created by Galería MÜ. In order to identify new talents, we have opened four call for entries per year. Each one of our editions is focused on a region of Latin America: Southern Cone; Brazil and the Eastern Region; Andean Region; and Central and Mezo America and the Caribbean. The call for entries begins with each season according to a region.
The selected artists receive 3 spreads (6 pages in total) that include images and text about the selected series and a resume at the end of the magazine.
The call for entries are open to artists born in Latin American countries, foreigners that have lived for a minimum of 5 years in a Latin American country, or collectives in which at least half of their participants are Latin American. We only accept projects with photography or derivations thereof, including but not limited to: collage, scanography, image appropriation, etc.

In order to participate in the call for entries, you may send a PDF with a white background (that does not exceed 10MB) to convocatoriaalbum@galeriamu.com that contains:
-Images from between 1 and 3 photographic series (minimum of 7 images per series)
-A text for each one of the proposed series of no more than 200 words each
-Artistic resume that includes studies, solo and group exhibitions, recognitions, publications and collections
-Prices and artwork descriptions of each one of the included works
-Contact information that includes email, telephone (with country and city code)

Frequently Asked Questions
The call for entries is only for photography?
Yes. ALBÜM is a magazine that presents Fine Art photography from Latin America. We receive portfolios with work as diverse as direct photography, documentary, pictorial, experimental, analog, digital, combined mediums, collage, scanography, image appropriation and other mixed techniques in which photography is the predominant medium.
We do not receive portfolios of fashion, product, editorial, glamor or other commercial genres of photography.
What should be in the portfolio that I am sending?
It should be one files in PDF format with a white back ground (and does not exceed 10MB)

Do you receive other types of portfolios for the call for entries or only one that contains the list above?
We only receive portfolios that follow the previously mentioned list.
When will I be informed if I am selected?
Within two weeks following the close of the call for entries. If you are not contacted in this time, it means that you were not selected for this edition. Due to the volume of portfolios, we cannot respond individually to each one.
Do I need a university degree in Art or Photography in order to participate in the call for entries?
No. It’s important that the dedication to the work is seen in the body of images and conceptual clarity. There is neither exclusion nor inclusion due to having or not having a degree in any field. What counts is the proposal’s coherence.
Is there any cost for participating in the call for entries?
No. It’s completely free.
The call for entries are by region. How does that work?
ALBÜM is quarterly and each edition is dedicated to a region of Latin America. You should submit to the call for entries according to the country in which you were born or currently reside.
I wasn’t born in Latin America, but my work is based on Latin American culture. Can I participate?
If you live in a Latin American country and have been living there for five years or more, you may participate.
My country doesn’t appear on the call for entries list. Does that mean I can’t participate?
If you country doesn’t appear, please write us about your case to convocatoriaalbum@galeriamu.com.
ALBÜM is commercial – do you sell works through the magazine?
Yes. ALBÜM is a platform for the outreach and commercialization of works included in each of its editions. The prices of the works are included at the back of the magazine allowing for those interested in the works to purchase them.
Does ALBÜM take a commission from the sales of works?
No. You receive 100% of the sale, but you must contribute a work of the same value to the magazine’s collection.
Does ALBÜM maintain the rights of the published works?
No. The files received are only used for printing the magazine or for outreach and public relations. The rights of the works are exclusive property of the artist.
How are the artists benefited from being published in ALBÜM?
ALBÜM is part of Galería MÜ, a space that has specialized in Fine Art Photography in Colombia for more than 4 years. We have a public interested in Latin American photography that value our work as the first photography gallery in the country. When your work is published in ALBÜM, it will be seen by thousands of people on the Internet through the screens of collectors, gallerists, curators, art enthusiasts, photographers, artists and thousands of other people from different fields that can appreciate your work and buy it if interested.
